A “Ripple”………………..
To all who were involved in Project America Run, I just wanted you to know that I just found out about your run. Thank you. I found Jon’s flag. I thought you might want to know a little about Jonathan or McGee as I called him. Jon was a miracle baby. He was special from the get go. I knew it and God knew it. You see, I named my only child, Jonathan because his name means “gift from God”. Jon was indeed a gift. I just did not expect God to call him home so soon.
I believe that Jonathan, if he lived, would have done what you did Mike. He loved life, and he loved being an Army Ranger Medic. Jon was twelve days from his first wedding anniversary; and exactly one month from being 23. I have attached some photos as well as some articles about my son, your soldier.
Thank you does not sound adequate for the “run”. But it is the encouragement that your run leaves in my heart. To know that a man I will probably never meet, honored my son with all the other men and women who laid their lives down for our freedoms makes this mother’s heart soar up to the heavens. I am sure that all the warriors are celebrating and ran right alongside of you. Bless you and all who were behind the scenes.
